Born on a Blue Day: A Memoir by Daniel Tammet

() This author is not short of brain issues. Though not all of them are bad, in fact many of his differences are "gifts". Quite a unique story to read, at least, for me.

Epilepsy, sleepwalking, Asperger's, synesthesia, generalized anxiety, savant syndrome... like I said, a myriad of brain anomalies. Furthermore, he's a "human calculator". He can become fluent in a language with impeccable speed. He associates numbers visually, with different colors and textures. Oh, not to mention, he's gay.

Details the author's life and unusual ways of thinking while growing up. Shows how he finds his independence and eventually develops important relationships. He submits himself for scientific studies and becomes semi-notorious. He's interviewed on The Tonight Show. A British documentary was made about him. Also, he was recorded learning Icelandic within 4 days flat.

Such a fascinating book. Would totally read again.
