Perfect Strangers by Jahnna N. Malcolm

() This is another one of books that would make a cute Disney movie for pre-teens. For us, it might be fun to watch, but it's so unrealistic that of course it can't be taken seriously.
The main character, Madison, is this near-perfect, preppy girl who's running for class president in her high school. Her opponents are two guys: one who's infuriatingly cocky, snobby, and rich, and another who is said to have been the force behind Madison's most embarrassing moment in freshman year. Their classes are also running an anonymous "pen pal" program, where the most unexpected people get paired up and develop their first young romances. Misunderstandings are soon understood, and the real bad seed in the [presidential running] triplet is shown.
A good book for pointing out the importance of communication to a younger, quicker, more demanding generation.
